Research Technician
I am a biological oceanographer in the Dyhrman Microbial Oceanography group. I received a M.Sc. in Biological Oceanography from the University of Connecticut in 2002. For the past 21 years, I have been using molecular tools to study how photosynthetic marine microbes both shape and respond to a changing ocean. I also make sure that no one wears flip flops in the lab, adds water to acid, or doesn't have a good time on research cruises. I support diversity in science, and have developed activities for classrooms to not only advance ocean science literacy but also to encourage participation among underrepresented groups.
