Jillian B. Paquette

Bridge-to-PhD Fellow

I’m a Bridge-to-PhD fellow in the Center for Chemical Currencies of a Microbial Planet (C-CoMP) at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and I’m based at Columbia University in the Dyhrman Microbial Oceanography Group. I graduated from Davidson College in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Hispanic Studies. In the Dyhrman lab, I’m working with Annika Gomez on projects related to eukaryotic phytoplankton nutrient physiology using metatranscriptomic and lab culturing methods. More generally, I’m also interested in community dynamics, adaptations, and marine ecology. Outside of work, I love crocheting and knitting, baking, and birdwatching in the parks!
