I am a Bridge-to-PhD fellow at The Center for Chemical Currencies of a Microbial Planet (C-CoMP) at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution working in the Dyhrman Lab group. I graduated from Amherst College in Spring 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. I am interested in studying the role of microbes in biogeochemical cycling in the ocean using -omic approaches. Specifically, I am interested in investigating the role of phytoplankton in the carbon cycle using transcriptomic approaches to better understand the fate of organic carbon in the ocean. I am looking forward to helping disentangle the complicated network of microbial processes regulating surface ocean carbon cycling to help predict how climate change could impact these processes and the role of microbes in carbon sequestration in the ocean.
